The story of Moon Child Mala is also my story; I can’t dissociate one from the other. What I’m offering is what I believe in. When you’re buying a product, you’re also buying a part of who I am.
Moon Child Mala is the amalgamation of concepts that I cherish; a meeting point between the ancient eastern wisdom and our Canadian aboriginal roots.
I clearly remember as a child being fascinated by the aboriginal knowledge. Moon cycles, sweat lodges and smudging, rituals around the seasons, herbs to cure, community, high respect for nature/animals and use of different gemstones; those concepts are deep in my roots. The holistic approach of life brought me to yoga and then to meditation. At first, it was quite hard to keep my mind from running, so I started practicing Japa mediation. Focusing my mind on a specific mantra or intention, while counting the 108 beads, gave me the full benefits of my mediation session.
After 14 years of practicing yoga, I finally registered for a yoga teacher training. To complete the program, we had to work on a project related to yoga. I wanted to reconcile my love for yoga and meditation, my interest for aboriginal heritage and my overload of creativity. I could have done a painting or a photography session, forms of expression that I really enjoy, but I followed my intuition and created Moon Child Mala.
Moon Child Mala is my voice. Through every single creation, I’m sharing authenticity, power of meditation, gemstone knowledge, benefits of smudging, importance of the moon cycle and aboriginal heritage. With each product, I’m sending you my love and my positive energy.
